Yes. Siblings can share a lesson when arranged in advance. The session will be treated as a small group lesson.

These lesson lengths help learners remain focused while receiving regular opportunities to practise speaking.

There is a strong emphasis on real-life communication, practical expressions, and speaking confidence.

Lessons are held online through Zoom.

You will receive a meeting link when you sign up. The same link will be used for your regular sessions.

Learners should join with:

• A quiet learning environment
• A device with the camera and audio enabled

Lessons focus primarily on speaking, listening, and reading in Yorùbá.

Writing is optional and can be included when requested. If you would like your child to develop Yorùbá writing skills, please mention this before lessons begin.

I work with learners in different countries. We will agree on a lesson time that works for your time zone and the available schedule.

One-on-one learners receive a personalised Notion dashboard and a private Quizlet class.

Learners studying together in a small group share one dashboard and one Quizlet class.

The dashboard is updated with relevant learning materials, while the Quizlet class grows as lessons progress and includes flashcards based on completed topics.

Payments are made monthly in advance. An invoice will be sent before payment is due.

If you need to pause lessons because of holidays, travel, or other commitments, please let me know as early as possible. Your invoice can then be adjusted to cover the sessions you are available to attend that month.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you cannot attend a lesson. With sufficient notice, rescheduling is subject to availability and must take place within the same month.

• Children: Up to two lessons may be rescheduled per month.
• Adults: Up to one lesson may be rescheduled per month.
• Lessons missed without notice will not be rescheduled.

For younger children, it is helpful to have a parent or guardian nearby in case the learner needs support.

Older children can usually attend independently.

Yes. I occasionally share practice prompts or review activities to help learners continue practising outside lessons.

With regular lessons and practice, many learners begin to understand and use simple Yorùbá sentences within a few weeks.

Progress becomes more noticeable with consistent speaking practice over time. Every learner’s journey is different.

Every learner progresses at a different pace. Progress usually depends on several factors, including:

• Consistency: Attending lessons regularly and practising between sessions.
• Exposure: Hearing Yorùbá through conversations, songs, videos and everyday interactions outside lessons.
• Speaking practice: Using the language regularly, responding to questions and forming complete sentences.
• Starting point: A learner who already understands some Yorùbá may progress differently from a complete beginner.
• Confidence and participation: Learners often improve more quickly when they are willing to speak, make mistakes and try again.

LYWE lessons prioritise speaking and real-life communication, rather than memorising isolated vocabulary without knowing how to use it.
